My experience comes from eleven years of playing guitar and singing, as both a solo performer and as part of bands and ensembles. Throughout those eleven years, I have also writen, composed and arranged original music. My degree covered performance, music theory, composition and arrangement, as well as methods of teaching music.

Though I specialise in Clarinet and Saxophone teaching, I also teach piano and Music Theory of all levels. Upon and during the recent completion of my degree, I have built a range of teaching experience spanning across a wide age and ability range, including 1-2-1, group instrumental teaching, classroom and workshop teaching and adult beginners. I have ABRSM Grade 8 or above in all the above disciplines and I’m currently studying for a diploma in Instrumental Teaching. In the modern day I feel that musical versatility is vital and therefore I am passionate about providing tuition in a variety of styles spanning across, classical, jazz, contemporary and popular and I also teach those working towards exams such as ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall and can be available as an accompanist for exams and external performances. I myself studied clarinet with Halle Orchestra and Opera North Clarinettist Sarah Masters and until 2013 studied piano with renowned Jazz pianist Sean Miller As a player and conductor, my experience ranges across Wind Orchestras, Symphony Orchestras, Big Bands, Choirs, Pit Orchestras, Accompaniment and Concert management/organisation. At the moment, I hold seats the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra and The Yorkshire Band of the Royal British Legion and have just recorded an album of theatre and pop hits with vocalist Lisa Rogers. In 2014, I lead a team of the Huddersfield Marathon Band that raised collectively £60,000 for SENSE by marching the London Marathon, breaking the Guinness World Record for fastest time by a marching band.
